The HPS Training Academy provides a range of Oracle Primavera product training to support your professional development.
This September, we had the pleasure of hosting the Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) Community at Oracle's Moorgate office for a day filled with learning, networking, engaging conversations, and of course, delicious food and drinks. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the event's success!
A Reflection on an Amazing OPC Community Day.
The OPC Community is truly the driving force behind events like this. While organising such days requires significant time, planning, and coordination, none of it would be feasible without your involvement. Your questions, insights, and shared experiences shape the future of OPC and create value across the industry.
This year marked the inaugural OPC Community Day, designed to unite clients, industry experts, and professionals passionate about Primavera’s powerful functionalities. Our goal was straightforward: to share real-world experiences, and explore how OPC continues to provide value across projects, portfolios, and organisations. Judging by the energy in the room, we believe we accomplished that!
We kicked off the day with breakfast and coffee before hearing from the “two Andrews” – Andrew Ross from our team and Andrew Godfrey from Oracle. They set a welcoming tone and provided an optimistic outlook on the future of the Oracle Primavera Cloud ecosystem.
Next, we transitioned into the Rolls-Royce session, led by Paul Newton and Stephen Powell. Their inspiring journey demonstrated how OPC supports portfolio management, and their vision for expanding its use across the business ignited lively discussions among attendees.
From Portfolio Management to Risk Leadership
Following that, David Miller from UK Power Networks conducted a standout session on Risk Management in OPC. David and his team are at the forefront of extracting measurable value from OPC’s risk capabilities, leaving attendees pondering the crucial question: “How can we apply that too?”
We then welcomed HPS experts Daleen Strydom and Alister Brand-Williamson.
Daleen addressed one of the industry’s most significant misconceptions – that Oracle Primavera Cloud is merely “another scheduling tool.” She showcased how OPC encompasses far more than scheduling, offering features such as resource management, lean task planning, and enterprise-level collaboration tools that truly enhance operational efficiency.
Alister followed with an in-depth exploration of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), now part of the OPC subscription. He illustrated how OIC opens new possibilities by connecting your enterprise applications through millions of integration message credits, facilitating streamlined data flows and enhanced visibility across systems.
To conclude, Dave Hammal from Oracle walked us through the OPC roadmap and addressed questions from the community. This session sparked thoughtful dialogues about the future of OPC and how the community can influence its development.
The day wrapped up on a high note with drinks, food, and relaxed networking at All Bar One.
We hope the day provided a valuable platform for learning, connecting, and discovering innovative ways to harness Oracle Primavera Cloud. We are already planning for next year and aiming even bigger!
